Some letters are meant for a date you already know.
Others are meant for a time in the future when you may no longer be able to deliver them yourself.
EverSealed offers two different future delivery services, allowing you to choose the option that best reflects the purpose of your message.
You can choose:
Time Capsule Letters – for delivery after a selected period or on a specific future date.
Legacy Letters – for long-term preservation and future delivery after your passing has been appropriately verified.
Both services are built around real, handwritten letters that remain sealed while stored by EverSealed.
Time Capsule Letters
Choose a future date for your words
A Time Capsule Letter is designed for a message that you want to write today and have delivered at a known time in the future.
Perhaps you want your child to receive a letter when they are older.
You may want to write something for a future anniversary, birthday or graduation.
You might even want to write to your future self.
Whatever the reason, the important difference is that you already know when the letter should be delivered.
Choose your Time Capsule
Current options include:
-
1 Year
-
3 Years
-
5 Years
-
10 Years
-
Custom Future Date
1-Year Time Capsule
A shorter future period for a message connected with something that may happen relatively soon.
It could be a birthday, personal goal, anniversary, family milestone or simply a message you want someone to read one year from now.
3-Year Time Capsule
Three years can change a great deal.
This option may suit letters connected with personal growth, family changes, education, relationships or thoughts you want to preserve exactly as you feel them today.
5-Year Time Capsule
Five years gives your message a different perspective.
It may be used for important milestones, messages to children or family members, or a letter to your future self.
10-Year Time Capsule
A decade can transform lives.
The 10-Year Time Capsule is designed for meaningful messages that you want preserved for a much later moment.
Your words remain connected to the person you were when you wrote them.
Custom Future Date
Sometimes it is not simply about waiting a number of years.
You may already know the exact day.
A Custom-Date Time Capsule allows you to choose a specific future delivery date, such as:
-
a birthday;
-
an anniversary;
-
a graduation;
-
a wedding anniversary;
-
a family milestone;
-
another meaningful future occasion.
How a Time Capsule Letter works
You select your preferred Time Capsule option and place your order.
You write your letter privately and seal it.
Write the recipient’s full name and Order number: [your EverSealed order number] on the outside of the sealed letter envelope. The recipient’s postal address is provided with your order; it does not need to be written on that envelope. Put the sealed letter envelope inside a second, outer postal envelope, address it as shown below, write your EverSealed order number on its outside and arrange the postage. Keep proof of posting.
Post your completed Time Capsule letter to:
EverSealed
16 Commerce Square
Lace Market
Nottingham
NG1 1HS
United Kingdom
Write this address on the outer postal envelope.
Once received, your letter is registered under its EverSealed order or reference information and placed into secure storage.
For 1, 3, 5 and 10 year Time Capsules, the selected period begins on the order date. Physical storage begins when we receive and register your sealed letter. Please post it promptly: sending it late does not extend the scheduled delivery date.
For a Custom-Date Time Capsule, the selected future date determines when the delivery process begins.
When the appropriate date arrives, EverSealed prepares the sealed letter for delivery using the most recent valid recipient information held for the order.
No Legacy verification is required
A Time Capsule is a date-based service.
It does not require death verification or Legacy verification contacts.
No monthly Legacy subscription
Time Capsule Letters do not require the ongoing monthly preservation subscription used for Legacy Letters.
The applicable preservation period forms part of the Time Capsule service you purchase.
Legacy Letters
Leave your words for the people who matter most
A Legacy Letter works differently.
You are not choosing a particular future delivery date.
Instead, you prepare your letter now so that it can be preserved for the future and delivered to the person you have chosen after your passing has been appropriately verified.
It may be a letter to your partner.
A child.
A grandchild.
A close friend.
Or another person who matters deeply to you.
You may tell them that the letter exists, or you may choose to keep it private.
Choose how many Legacy Letters you want to preserve
The EverSealed Legacy Letter Service currently offers:
-
1 Letter
-
2 Letters
-
4 Letters
-
6 Letters
Each letter may be written for a different recipient.
For example, if you choose four letters, you could prepare individual private messages for four different people.
Recipient information
For each Legacy Letter, you provide details for the person who should eventually receive it.
These include information such as:
-
full name;
-
future delivery address;
-
email address; and
-
telephone number.
Because Legacy Letters may remain in storage for many years, these details can be updated if circumstances change.
Verification contacts
Legacy Letters require a future verification process.
You nominate at least one verification contact and may nominate up to five verification contacts.
These trusted contacts may help EverSealed verify relevant information when the time comes.
Being a verification contact does not give someone access to your letter.
They cannot read it and they do not automatically decide whether the letter is released.
EverSealed follows the applicable verification process before Legacy Letters move to future delivery.

Preparing your Legacy Letters
After placing your order, you receive your Legacy preparation package.
Depending on the number of letters selected, it includes the materials needed to prepare your messages, including:
-
premium 100% cotton archival writing paper;
-
writing pen;
-
individual Legacy envelopes;
-
tamper-evident security seals;
-
preparation instructions;
-
secure outer return packaging; and
-
a prepaid return label.
You write each letter privately.
EverSealed does not need to know what you have written.
Write the intended recipient's full name on the outside of each Legacy envelope, seal it according to the instructions and place the completed envelopes together in the supplied return package.
Long-term preservation
Once your Legacy Letters are received by EverSealed, they are registered under your order and archive reference.
They remain sealed and are placed into long-term preservation.
The Legacy Letter Service operates through an ongoing monthly preservation subscription.
The subscription begins when your order is placed and covers the ongoing preservation and administration of your Legacy service.
There is no separate starter-package charge.
When the future release process begins
A Legacy Letter is not automatically sent simply because someone contacts EverSealed.
The required verification process must first be completed.
Once the sender's passing has been appropriately verified, EverSealed can begin preparing the relevant Legacy Letters for their recipients.
If several letters have been stored, each recipient is handled individually.
For example, if one recipient's address needs to be updated, that does not necessarily prevent another correctly verified letter from being prepared for delivery.

Which Service Should I Choose?
Choose a Time Capsule Letter if:
You know when you want your letter delivered.
For example:
“I want my daughter to receive this on her 21st birthday.”
“I want to read this myself in five years.”
“I want this delivered on our 10th anniversary.”
The release is based on time or a specific date.
Choose a Legacy Letter if:
You want your words preserved for the people you care about and delivered after your passing has been appropriately verified.
For example:
“I want my children to have these words one day.”
“I want to leave an individual private letter for each of my grandchildren.”
“There are things I want my family to be able to read in my own handwriting.”
The release is based on verification rather than a predetermined date.
What If I Only Want to Write a Letter Now?
You do not have to use EverSealed storage.
If you simply want premium stationery for writing a meaningful handwritten letter, you can purchase an EverSealed Writing Kit separately.
You write the letter and then decide what happens to it.
You can:
-
give it personally;
-
post it yourself;
-
keep it somewhere special; or
-
save it privately.
A standalone Writing Kit does not need to be returned to EverSealed and does not include future storage or delivery.

Your Letter Remains Private
Whether you choose a Time Capsule or Legacy Letter, your private correspondence remains sealed during normal storage and handling.
EverSealed does not routinely open, read or review the contents of stored letters.
Your role is to write the words.
Our role is to preserve the sealed letter and follow the future delivery process connected with the service you selected.
Keep Your Details Up to Date
A lot can change over several years.
Recipients may move.
Phone numbers and email addresses may change.
Verification contacts may also need to be updated.
If important information changes while your letter is stored, contact EverSealed and provide your order or reference number.
Keeping these details current helps us prepare for future delivery correctly.
Two Different Ways to Send Your Words Into the Future
The difference is simple:
Time Capsule Letter
You decide when the letter should arrive.
Legacy Letter
You decide who should receive your words, and EverSealed preserves them until the required future verification has been completed.
Whichever you choose, the message begins in the same place:
with your own words, written today.
