Writing a deeply personal letter can sometimes bring difficult emotions, memories or questions to the surface.
EverSealed offers the option to book a private and confidential online counselling session with John Bernath, MSc, MBACP, an independent integrative psychotherapist and counsellor.
Your conversation may relate to your EverSealed letter, but it does not have to. You may also wish to talk about grief or loss, family or relationship concerns, thoughts about the future, major life changes, an important personal decision, difficult emotions, or simply something that feels important to you.
Booking a counselling session is completely optional and separate from all EverSealed Time Capsule, Legacy Letter, storage, verification and delivery services.

Hello, I’m John.
When EverSealed approached me to ask whether I would be willing to offer emotional support to people using the service, the idea resonated deeply with me.
Loss, grief and the questions that arise around the end of life have been a significant part of my work for many years. I have worked with people who were dying, with those left behind, and with people facing profound changes in their lives through these experiences.
These experiences have taught me just how much can come to the surface when we think seriously about our lives, the people who matter to us, the things we want to say, and what we may eventually leave behind.
I work independently from EverSealed, so my role is not to guide you towards any particular decision, but simply to support you in thinking and feeling your way through what is emerging.
If writing your letter brings something difficult to the surface, or you simply feel that you would like another person alongside you while you think through what you want to say, it would be a privilege to offer that space for you.

Appointments offer a private and confidential space to talk through whatever may have arisen for you.
Sessions take place securely by video, allowing you to speak from the privacy and familiarity of your own space.

You are never required to share the contents of your EverSealed letter unless you choose to do so.
Professional Background
John is an experienced integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with over a decade of clinical experience in the UK and internationally.
He holds an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Diploma in End of Life Therapy. He is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Registered Member of the BACP.
His professional background includes NHS counselling, trauma-focused work, and extensive experience supporting people through grief, bereavement, major life transitions and the emotional questions that can arise around loss and the end of life.
John offers a confidential and thoughtful space for people who may find that writing their letter brings difficult feelings, memories or questions to the surface.
Independent from EverSealed
John works independently from EverSealed.
The counselling service is separate from EverSealed's physical letter storage, Time Capsule, Legacy Letter, verification and delivery services.
John does not decide when an EverSealed letter is released, does not carry out Legacy verification and does not automatically act as a verification contact.
Booking or not booking a counselling session has no effect on your EverSealed order or the future storage, verification or delivery of your letter.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your appointment is private and confidential, subject to the usual professional and legal limits of confidentiality.
EverSealed will not receive any information about what you discuss during your appointment, and you do not need to disclose the contents of your letter unless you choose to do so.
Any information shared with John will be handled in accordance with his professional and legal responsibilities as an independent practitioner.
