A little inspiration for a meaningful letter
Imagine the person you might become
Think about the ordinary details of your life today: the people you spend time with, the music you listen to and the things that make you happy. Then imagine where you might be in one, five or ten years. What would you love to achieve, which friendships do you hope will last, and what would you like your future self to remember about this moment?

A sentence to get you started
Dear future me, here is what life looks like today, and what I hope comes next…
How to write your letter
You do not need to be a confident writer. A few honest sentences can be enough. Use these steps as a gentle guide and leave out anything that does not feel right.
- Begin with a name and today's date. Use the greeting you would naturally say to this person, or to your future self.
- Say why you are writing. Tell them what made you want to keep these words.
- Bring one memory to life. Describe a place, a conversation or a small detail that matters to you.
- Share what you want them to know. Write about your feelings, gratitude or hopes. Add a little humour if it feels natural.
- Finish in your own way. Add a wish, a few loving words or a familiar sign-off, then sign your name.
Questions to help the words flow
Choose two or three. These are starting points, not a checklist.
- What does an ordinary day look like, and which little details might you forget?
- Who matters most to you right now, and why?
- What are you proud of, even if nobody else has noticed?
- What feels difficult today, and what would you like to tell yourself with kindness?
- Which dream would you love to take one small step towards?
- What song, meal or favourite place captures this chapter of your life?
- What do you predict you will still be putting off when you open this letter?
More ways to begin
- Today I am writing from… and the thing on my mind is…
- By the time you read this, I hope you have…
- Please tell me we have finally sorted out that drawer full of mystery cables…
A short example to make your own
Dear future me, today the kitchen is a mess, my tea has gone cold and I have more plans than spare hours. I hope you remember that we were trying, even on the untidy days. Have you taken that trip yet? And please tell me you have stopped saving clothes for an occasion that never arrives. Whatever has changed, I hope you still make time for the people who make you feel like yourself.
For a playful ending, predict your future favourite hobby, your most-used phrase or whether you will ever become a morning person.
Your letter can be short or long. Read it once, add anything you have missed, and let it sound like you.
Save your letter for the future
Pick one or two questions and write in your own words. Add a favourite song or a memory you want to keep. When your letter is ready, choose a Time Capsule date and follow the instructions for sending your sealed letter to EverSealed.
