Your letters remain sealed and private until the time comes for their future release, following EverSealed's required verification process.
What Is a Legacy Letter?
A Legacy Letter is a physical handwritten message that you prepare now for someone important to you to receive in the future.
Unlike a Time Capsule Letter, a Legacy Letter is not connected to a fixed future delivery date.
It is intended for future release after the sender's passing has been appropriately verified.
You decide:

who the letter is for;

what you want to say;

whether the recipient knows the letter exists;

and which trusted people you nominate as verification contacts.
EverSealed's role is to preserve your sealed correspondence and manage the future verification and delivery process.
Your words remain yours.

The EverSealed Legacy Letter Service currently offers:

Each letter can be written for a different recipient.
For example, you may choose to write individual letters for:

Your recipients do not need to know that you have written a Legacy Letter for them.
You may tell them if you wish, or keep the letter completely private.
How the Legacy Letter Service Works
Step 1 – Choose Your Legacy Letter Option
Select:
1 Letter, 2 Letters, 4 Letters or 6 Letters.
Choose the number of individual messages you would like EverSealed to preserve.
Each letter can have its own recipient.
Step 2 – Place Your Order
Complete your Legacy Letter order.
Your service is linked to an EverSealed order and reference record.
Please keep your EverSealed order or reference number safely, as it will be important if you later need to:

update a recipient;

change an address;
-
update a verification contact;
-
replace a letter;
-
ask about your subscription;
-
or contact support regarding your stored letters.
Step 3 – Provide Recipient Details
For each Legacy Letter, you provide information for the person who should eventually receive it.
This includes details such as:

full name
-
future delivery address
-
email address
-
telephone number
If you purchase several Legacy Letters, each letter is connected to its own recipient record.
Because years may pass before future delivery, these details can be updated later if circumstances change.
Verification Contacts
Each Legacy Letter requires at least one verification contact. You may nominate up to five verification contacts per letter.
Verification contacts are trusted people who may help EverSealed confirm relevant information when the future release process needs to begin.
They do not:

own your letter;
-
control its contents;
-
have the right to read it;
-
or automatically decide when it is released.
EverSealed follows the applicable verification procedure before any Legacy Letter moves to release and delivery.

What You Receive
After placing your order, EverSealed sends you the preparation package for the number of Legacy Letters you selected.
Your package includes:

Write Your Letters Privately
Take your time.
There is no correct way to write a Legacy Letter.
You may write about:

memories you want someone to keep;

family stories;

advice;
-
encouragement;
-
gratitude;
-
something you regret;
-
something you are proud of;
-
hopes for someone's future;

words of reassurance;
-
or something you have simply never said before.
Your letter may be several pages long.
Or it may contain only a few sentences.
EverSealed does not need to know what you write.
Your message is private.
Write the Recipient's Name on Each Envelope
Before sealing your Legacy Letter, clearly write the recipient's full name on the outside of the individual Legacy envelope.
This is especially important if you are preparing several letters.
The recipient's full postal address does not need to be permanently written on the Legacy envelope.
Addresses may change over time, so EverSealed maintains the future delivery details separately and they can be updated when necessary.
Seal Your Letter
When you are happy with your message, place it inside the Legacy envelope and seal it according to the supplied instructions.
Where a tamper-evident security seal is provided, use it as instructed.
Your letter is intended to remain sealed throughout normal storage and handling.
EverSealed does not routinely open, read or review the contents of stored Legacy Letters.
Return Your Letters to EverSealed
You do not need to send each Legacy Letter separately.
If you have prepared several letters, place all completed individual Legacy envelopes together inside the secure outer return packaging supplied with your order.
Use the prepaid return label provided.
Follow the return instructions included with your Legacy package.
When Your Letters Arrive
When EverSealed receives your package, the sealed letters are registered under the relevant EverSealed archive reference.
Each individual envelope is matched to its intended recipient record.
The letters are then placed into long-term preservation.
They remain sealed and stored until the required future verification process has been completed.
Your Legacy Preservation Subscription
The EverSealed Legacy Letter Service operates through an ongoing monthly preservation subscription.
The subscription begins when your order is placed.
There is no separate starter-package charge.
Your selected monthly price includes:

the initial Legacy preparation package;

long-term physical preservation;
-
archive record maintenance;
-
recipient information management;
-
verification contact administration;
-
future verification readiness;
-
release administration;
-
and future delivery handling.
The monthly subscription amount depends on whether you select 1, 2, 4 or 6 Legacy Letters.
What Happens If a Subscription Payment Stops?
A stopped or missed subscription payment does not mean that the customer has died.
It does not automatically trigger the release of any Legacy Letter.
EverSealed will first make reasonable attempts to contact the customer regarding the account.
Where appropriate and in accordance with the applicable policy, nominated verification contacts may also be contacted.
A Legacy Letter will never be released solely because subscription payments have stopped.

Your Information Can Change
Legacy Letters may remain with EverSealed for many years.
Life changes during that time.
A recipient may move.
An email address may change.
A telephone number may change.
A verification contact may no longer be suitable.
You can contact EverSealed to update important information connected with your stored Legacy Letters.
Please provide your EverSealed order or reference number whenever requesting a change.
Can I Change My Verification Contacts?
Yes.
If you need to replace or update one of your nominated verification contacts, contact EverSealed Support.
You must continue to maintain at least one valid verification contact, and you may have up to five.
Can I Replace My Letter?
Yes.
Life changes, and sometimes the words you want someone to receive change too.
If you decide that a stored Legacy Letter no longer says what you want it to say, you may contact EverSealed to arrange its return or replacement.
A £9.99 handling and secure return fee applies under the current policy.
Please provide your EverSealed order or reference number when requesting a replacement.
Your ongoing preservation subscription remains active unless you separately request cancellation.
Can I Include a Photograph or Keepsake?
Small, flat photographs and paper-based keepsakes may be included where they fit safely inside the supplied Legacy envelope.
Please do not include:

cash;
-
jewellery;
-
precious metals;
-
financial instruments;
-
original wills or legal documents;
-
illegal or prohibited materials;
-
or items that cannot be safely stored inside the Legacy envelope.
The Legacy Letter Service is primarily designed for the preservation of handwritten correspondence.
Future Verification
A Legacy Letter Is Never Released Automatically
If EverSealed receives information that the sender may have passed away, the letters are not immediately released.
The applicable verification process begins first.
EverSealed may use nominated verification contacts and may request appropriate supporting information or documentation.
The purpose of this process is to reduce the risk of:

premature release;
-
accidental release;
-
fraudulent requests;
-
or unauthorised delivery.
Only after the required verification has been satisfactorily completed can the Legacy Letters move to the delivery stage.
Verification Contacts Do Not Receive Automatic Access
Being nominated as a verification contact does not mean that person receives your letter.
They are not given access to the contents.
They do not have authority to open your stored correspondence.
Their role is connected to verification only.
Each Recipient Is Managed Separately
If you have stored several Legacy Letters, each letter remains connected to its own recipient.
After the required verification concerning the sender has been completed, the individual letters can be processed separately.
For example:
If one recipient has moved and their new address still needs to be confirmed, that does not necessarily stop another correctly verified recipient's letter from being prepared for delivery.
This helps prevent one recipient issue from unnecessarily delaying all other Legacy Letters.
Future Delivery
Once the required verification process has been completed, EverSealed reviews the recipient details held for each applicable Legacy Letter.
The most recent valid delivery information is used.
The sealed letter is then prepared for secure tracked delivery.
A signature or other appropriate delivery confirmation may be required depending on the delivery service used.
The recipient receives the original physical letter that you prepared.
Your handwriting.
Your envelope.
Your words.
What If the Recipient Has Moved?
Because many years may pass, recipient information can change.
If you become aware of a new address, email address or telephone number, contact EverSealed as early as possible.
Providing current information helps reduce future delivery delays.
What If the Recipient Cannot Be Located?
If a Legacy Letter becomes eligible for release but the recipient cannot immediately be located, EverSealed will make reasonable attempts to obtain valid delivery information.
Where appropriate, this may include contacting:

the recipient using available contact information;
-
the customer records held;
-
and nominated verification contacts.
If delivery still cannot be completed, the letter may be retained for a further period while reasonable contact attempts continue.
Where no valid delivery route can ultimately be established, the letter will be handled according to the applicable Letter Storage & Release Policy.

Privacy & Confidentiality
A Legacy Letter can contain some of the most personal words a person will ever write.
EverSealed treats that responsibility seriously.
Stored Legacy Letters remain sealed during normal storage and handling.
EverSealed does not routinely:

open them;
-
read them;
-
photograph their contents;
-
copy their contents;
-
or review what has been written.
The letter belongs to the sender and, ultimately, the person for whom it was written.
Our role is to protect the sealed correspondence and manage the practical process around its future preservation and delivery.

A digital message can be copied, changed, forgotten or lost among thousands of other messages.
A handwritten letter is different.

Writing a Legacy Letter can sometimes bring difficult memories, grief or emotions to the surface.

The counselling service is completely separate from EverSealed's storage, verification and future delivery services.
You are never required to disclose or discuss the contents of your Legacy Letter.

Will EverSealed read my letter?
No.
Legacy Letters are intended to remain sealed during normal storage and handling.
EverSealed does not routinely open, read or review the contents of customers' correspondence.
Does my recipient need to know about the letter?

You may tell them if you wish, but you can also keep the existence of the Legacy Letter private.
How many recipients can I choose?
Each Legacy Letter can have its own recipient.
You can currently purchase options for 1, 2, 4 or 6 individual Legacy Letters.
How many verification contacts do I need?
For each letter, you must nominate at least one verification contact and may nominate up to five.
Can verification contacts read my letter?
No.
A verification contact has no right to access the contents of your stored correspondence.
When will my Legacy Letter be released?
Only after the applicable future verification process has been completed.
A Legacy Letter is not automatically released because someone reports that the sender has died.
Can I change recipient information?

Can I change my verification contacts?
